Janet Jackson ‘Reconnecting’ With Ex Jermaine Dupri Following Wissam Al Mana Split?
Janet Jackson has reportedly reconnected with her ex, Jermaine Dupri, following her divorce from Wissam Al Mana.
A source told E! News that the two are “constantly in contact” with each other. But a second insider clarified that even though the two might have reconnected, Jackson is still single, and her focus is her son, Eissa, and her “State of the World” tour.
“She is good friends with Jermaine. They share a very close and beautiful bond. He’s been there for her and she loves that about him. Anything can happen in the future but right now she has a lot of her plate,” the source said.
In September, rumors about Jackson and Dupri’s reconciliation started swirling, but a source already told the same publication at that time that the singer isn’t interested in getting into another relationship. After all, she just split from Al Mana in April.
The source said that it’s possible Jackson and Dupri could also be spending time with each other because of a future collaboration. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.
Last year, Dupri admitted that he might be the reason behind his and Jackson’s split in 2009. “I probably did, I’m a guy,” he said in reference to rumors that his personal issues got in the way of their relationship.
While speaking with Power 105.1 FM’s “The Breakfast Club” (via Pulse), the music producer said, “I believe that my life is a definition of a journey and inside that journey there were supposed to be things that happen and me having a relationship with her I definitely know it was part of my life that I was thought a lot for these eight years and I look at it like that.”
But Dupri acknowledged the fact that he didn’t know if his relationship with Jackson was meant to last a lifetime. “I don’t know if it was supposed to stay, but it was supposed to come into my life and teach me what I have learned,” he said.
And when asked if regretted losing Jackson, Dupri simply said, “I don’t know.”
