Jared Leto Look-Alike Confuses Netizens At Met Gala 2022

Jared Leto's look-alike stunned the crowd at the Met Gala 2022.

A man arrived wearing a silver Iris Van Herpen jumpsuit with silver structured wings at the Met Gala 2022 Monday. Many initially thought that it was Leto because of their striking resemblance.

Pop Base, a Twitter user with over 200,000 followers, shared the photo of the man in silver costume and tagged the "Suicide Squad" actor.

"Jared Leto for the #MetGala," the caption read.

Some netizens were confused as they thought it was an unrecognizable Leto. However, the "My So-Called Life" actor arrived with Gucci designer Alessandro Michele. The pair were twinning in matching gold suits with red bowties and black gloves. They also let their long hair down and donned dark shades.

It turned out that the mystery man in a silver costume was not Leto after all, but Fredrik Robertsson, Page Six reported. Robertsson described himself as a creative dictator and fashion addict. He also shared a snap of his makeup on Instagram, and it matched with the man many initially thought was Leto.

"We are getting ready for the Met Gala 2022, and I am so lucky to have my Swedish dream team in New York with me — transforming me into…well — you will see," he wrote in the caption.

He also thanked everyone who helped with his look "for being part of this moment none of us will forget" and acknowledged EA photography "for capturing it all" before concluding his post with "we made it!"

It wasn't the first time Robertsson turned heads at an event. Back in 2019, Christian Allaire posted a story titled "Who Was the Fabulous Mystery Man at Valentino’s Couture Show?"

The snap illustrated by Phil Oh featured a siling, bearded man in a metallic blue dress. Robertsson shared the same snap on his account and thanked Vogue.

"Thank you @vogue @chrisjallaire @voguemagazine for the article about me! You do know how to make a boy in a dress feel special," he wrote.

Two months later, Robertsson shared a snap of an article about Met Gala 2019 featuring his photo wearing the metallic blue gown. In the caption, he implied that he wasn't invited to the event.

"Thank you @vogue @voguerunway for reminding people of my fabulous dress. I can’t wait to see how the guests interpret 'Camp' at the Met Gala this year," he captioned the post. " I think my invite got lost in the mail [man tipping hand emoji]... @lilygatins - did you see all your photos?"

Robertsson was born in Stockholm and raised in Sweden, Norway and Singapore. He moved back to the Swedish capital when he was 15.

"People in general dress pretty cool but are lacking uniqueness," he told Vogue.

He is the editor-in-chief of Boy magazine and supports LGBTQ. He described himself as a "creative director" and a "creative dictator."

"I am a creative director," he explained. "But maybe a bit more of a creative dictator because I can now be picky about who I work with and what I do."
