Jared Leto Wants To Be In 'Baywatch' Sequel
Jared Leto revealed Wednesday that he wouldn't mind seeking a role outside of his norm, including getting his beach bod ready and suntan lotion out for a role in the upcoming "Baywatch" sequel.
In an interview with London-based magazine Evening Standard (ES), the actor who is famous for his extreme method-acting tactics shared his interest in nabbing a role in the Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson led reboot. Despite terrible reviews and box office numbers, a sequel to "Baywatch" is already in the works.

Although Leto never shies away from going full method, he doesn't believe a role in "Baywatch" will require him to resort to his more severe techniques.
"I don't think I need to do it for every role," Leto told ES. "I mean if I was in 'Baywatch II', I don't think I'd need to do it. That would be so much fun, to be in a movie as fun as that.'"
Nonetheless, he realizes that everyone has to follow different paths in order to get into character for the role they're tackling.
"Everyone’s got to do what works for them," he shared. "Some people can be eating chicken nuggets with a stripper on their lap and then jump right into it."
In the past, Leto's method-acting ways have led him to not break character until the film finished shooting.
During his turn at The Joker in 2015's "Suicide Squad," Leto got very creative with the tactics he used to get into character on the film's set. Ultimately, many of his fellow castmates were affected by how devoted he was, including Margot Robbie.
Robbie — who played Harley Quinn, The Joker's love interest in "Suicide Squad" — received a very disturbing gift from Leto.

"Margot starts to open the box, and there’s a note from the Joker. And I was like, 'That’s cool. That’s funny. Jared is like taking it real serious," Will Smith shared at Comic-Con in 2016. "Margot opened the box and there was a live rat in the box. I was playing Deadshot, but if I had pearls on I would have clutched them."
Other gifts that "Suicide Squad" cast members received from Leto's "Joker" persona include used condoms and anal beads.
Leto's full method ways don't end here. The Oscar-winning actor has an extensive history of doing strange things to prepare for a role.
While the actor has gone to great extremes to devote himself to a role such as living on the streets and giving up sex, nothing quite beats his preparation for "Chapter 27" —a film about the crazed Beetles fan that assassinated John Lennon.
To prepare for "Chapter 27," Leto's devotion to his craft came at a price as he managed to give himself gout — a type of arthritis.
"Really, it's a stupid thing to do," Leto told the Guardian on giving himself gout. "I got gout, and my cholesterol went up so fast in such a short time that my doctors wanted to put me on Lipitor, which is for much, much older people. Again, though, a fascinating journey."
At the end of the day, Leto recognizes that it's important for him to do what's necessary to ensure he put his best foot forward. Nonetheless, he concluded his interview with ES by sharing the lines he's "willing to cross" to get the job done.
"I’ve always just done what I have to do in order to do a good job — and I feel I do a better job when I give a bigger commitment," Leto shared with ES. "The shows that stand out with Thirty Seconds to Mars are the ones where I’m willing to cross the line and step into that uncomfortable place of imbalance, where I don’t understand what’s going to happen next. The same is true of climbing."
