Jason Aldean Defends Extramarital Romance With Brittany Kerr On Instagram

Jason Aldean’s decision to post a personal snap of himself posing with girlfriend Brittany Kerr resulted in an onslaught of backlash from fans this weekend. In response to attacks on his romance with Kerr, 27, the 37-year-old “Burnin’ It Down” singer took to social media to fight back against naysayers Sunday.

“You know my name, not my story. You’ve heard what I’ve done, not what I’ve been through,” Aldean posted to Instagram.

“So sick of people judging me and @brittanykerover things they know nothing about,” Aldean added. “I have made mistakes but I am a better person because of it and wouldn’t change a thing. I’m happier than I have ever been so thank you to all the people who support us. We are happy and life goes on. It’s time to move on people. #aldeanarmy #oldnews #timetomoveon.”

In September 2012, Aldean was photographed stepping out on his wife of 11 years, Jessica Ussery, kissing Kerr, a former “American Idol” contestant, at a bar on L.A.’s Sunset Strip. Seven months after calling the affair “embarrassing” and blaming his actions on alcohol, Aldean confirmed his romance with Kerr in March.

Despite Aldean’s pleas for the public to move on, some fans continued on the warpath against the country crooner’s relationship via Instagram Sunday.

“There’s a right and wrong way to do things. If you weren’t happy be a respectable man to your ex-wife and daughters and do it the right way!” posted one fan. “Get a divorce! Don’t publicly embarrass your family! #selfishbastard.”

“All I can say [is] I no longer have respect for you … I wish you a good life but I will not be part of the #aldeanarmy,” said another fan.

But Aldean has grandmother, Lovada Barbee, on his side.

“He left his wife long before they got together,” Barbee told Radar Online in June of her granddaughter’s controversial romance. “He’s down-to-earth. I approve of it. I hope everything works out.”

In April 2013, Aldean filed for divorce from Ussery, citing irreconcilable differences as the cause. The couple has two daughters together, Kelley, 11, and Kendyl, 6.
