Jazz Jennings is once again raising awareness on the discrimination against trans people in sports.

The 20-year-old LGBT rights activist took to Instagram Tuesday to upload a snap of herself from when she was younger and competing in sports as a trans athlete. A young Jazz can be seen smiling to the camera while holding what appears to be a soccer trophy.

The “I Am Jazz” star then encouraged everyone to let trans kids, especially trans girls, play sports because they also belong. Jennings also included slides in her post containing answers to common issues raised against trans athletes. One slide indicated that around 30 anti-trans sports bills have been proposed and enacted in the U.S. so far.

“Let girls play girls’ sports!!! As a trans athlete who has experienced discrimination when it comes to sports, I stand with all trans athletes looking to compete on equal grounds,” she wrote in the caption.

Back in April, Jennings also echoed a similar sentiment on social media in response to the bans some lawmakers have proposed to restrict the inclusion of trans athletes in sports, according to Huffington Post.

At the time, Jennings opened up about her personal experience with trans discrimination when she was younger on Twitter.

“When I was 8 years old, I was banned from … playing girls soccer for over two years. The ban made me feel excluded, had no merit and negatively affected me and my family,” she wrote on the microblogging site.

Meanwhile, Jennings’ TLC reality series, “I Am Jazz,” has been renewed for another season. Variety revealed earlier this month that the show had been given the green light to do a Season 7.

“Alongside viewers and fans, we have watched Jazz grow into a beautiful, young woman and champion for transgender rights all over the world. Her advocacy and impact have made a significant mark in history, and we are honored to continue following her story in the next chapter of her life,” Howard Lee, TLC streaming and network originals president, was quoted as saying by the outlet.

“I Am Jazz” Season 6 finished filming in 2019 but premiered in early 2020. This would mean that production on the new installment is taking place about two years after the previous season.
