Jennifer Aniston proved she's still just as close to her former husband Justin Theroux by posting a sweet birthday tribute for him on social media.
Theroux turned 50 on Tuesday and received a special shoutout from the "Friends" alum. The two tied the knot in August 2015 but divorced three years later.
Aniston, 52, shared on her Instagram Story a photo of the "Mosquito Coast" star in a suit with his dog, Kuma, in the background. "Happy Birthday JT," she wrote in the caption along with a festive emoji.
A second post shared by Aniston showed Theroux posing shirtless and rocking a gold ring and a white Nike visor while he appeared to be on vacation. "Truly one of a kind. Love You!" she wrote.
Aniston's post did not go unnoticed among fans, and some took to Twitter to gush over the former couple's relationship.
"If Jen were to get back together with one of her ex-husbands, I would choose Justin Theroux," one person commented.
"Heaven forbid exes remain friends," another Twitter user wrote.
"Admitting she's cut the anti-vaxxers out of her life is still the best thing Jennifer Aniston has done this month, but gifting us with this photo of Justin Theroux on his birthday is now a close second," a third netizen tweeted alongside the actor's shirtless photo.
"Okay I know Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are friends, but friends don't post shirtless photos of each other on their IG stories!!" Rachel Simon wrote.
Aniston and Theroux have remained friends following their split. Like his ex, the actor also continues to post birthday messages for Aniston when she celebrates her birthday on Feb. 11, years after they called it quits.
This February, Theroux was one of the first celebrities to pay tribute to Aniston via social media on her 52nd birthday. The actor posted a never-before-seen black-and-white photo of his ex to his Instagram Stories, which he captioned, "Happy Birthday."
The exes also spent Thanksgiving together with several of her friends at her home in 2019.
The actor opened up about their relationship earlier this year in the cover story for Esquire's April/May 2021 issue.
"I would say we’ve remained friends," Theroux revealed. "We don't talk every day, but we call each other. We FaceTime. We text. Like it or not, we didn’t have that dramatic split, and we love each other."
Theroux told The New York Times in 2019 that their split was the "most gentle separation."
"The good news is that was probably the most — I’m choosing my words really carefully — it was kind of the most gentle separation, in that there was no animosity," he explained. "Again, neither one of us is dead, neither one of us is looking to throw hatchets at each other. It’s more like, it’s amicable. It’s boring, but, you know, we respected each other enough that it was as painless as it could be."
