Jennifer Aniston Reacts To Paul Rudd Being Hailed As 'Sexiest Man Alive'

Jennifer Aniston has reacted to Paul Rudd being named People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” for 2021. The “Friends” actress took to her Instagram Stories Thursday to congratulate the actor on the news, saying she’s “so happy” for his new achievement.

“This makes me so happy,” Aniston tweeted. “We’ve ALWAYS known this, but Paul Rudd is officially @people’s Sexiest Man Live!” she added. She shared a clip from Rudd’s photoshoot in her post.

Aniston also posted a photo of them cuddling from their 1998 romantic comedy, “The Object of My Affection,” pointing out that her fellow co-star hasn’t aged much through the years. “You don’t age, which is weird,” she captioned the snap. “But we still love you,” Aniston added.

Aside from “The Object of My Affection,” the “Morning Show” actress and Rudd also appeared together in the 2012 comedy “Wanderlust.” However, their most memorable onscreen work was in “Friends,” where Rudd played Mike Hannigan, who was husband to Lisa Kudrow's character, Phoebe.

Rudd was bestowed the “Sexiest Man Alive” title on Tuesday’s episode of “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.” During the episode, host Colbert, a self-proclaimed “Sexiness Adjudicator,” welcomed him under the pretext of just promoting his upcoming film, “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” and Rudd had to participate in a sketch about having his sexiness levels tested scientifically.

Following an awkward medical examination, Colbert told Rudd he was not sexy. “I just got the results back from the lab, and look… there’s no easy way to say this, you tested negative for sexy. I’m sorry,” he told Rudd.

When Rudd humbly accepted the diagnosis, Colbert turned the tables by saying that humility was the sexiest attribute of all—thus breaking the news to his guest that he had just been hailed as People’s Sexiest Man Alive. “Don’t you see Paul? There’s nothing sexier than humility. That was the last test—and you passed, Paul, you passed. You’re sexy! You’re the Sexiest Man Alive,” he said.

Colbert showed the People Magazine’s cover featuring Rudd, which the publication also shared on its official Instagram page.
