Jennifer Lawrence Reveals Comedy Script She Wrote With Amy Schumer Is Done; When Will Movie Come Out?
When it comes to the idea of the funniest women in comedy, the pair that often comes to mind is the dynamic duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. However, Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence could soon be making a run at that throne, especially after the two developed a friendship that lead to the them writing their own comedy movie.
Lawrence told BBC 6 Music that she and Schumer have finished the first draft of their untitled comedy. The 25-year-old actress hopes to get to work on the movie in the near future.
"We have an official first draft. I am going to try and fit that somewhere into my ghoulish schedule. We’re going to try to do that pretty soon," Lawrence said.
Lawrence said she and Schumer, 34, laughed out loud at their work throughout the writing process. She feels the two have written a "pretty funny, good movie.”
In August 2015, Lawrence revealed to the New York Times that her and Schumer were writing a comedy where the two actresses play sisters. She said the script "just flowed" out of them.
"Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavors. It’s been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up," Lawrence dished.
In the untitled comedy movie, Lawrence told Entertainment Weekly that her character will be "a mess" and Schumer will play a flight attendant. She also added that the script is "funny, dirty, and real."
"We both have very similar senses of humor, obviously and aren’t afraid, which is a good and bad thing because I don’t know what our movie will be rated. And we’re both very blunt," Lawrence said.
Schumer and Lawrence revealed their friendship on Twitter in July 2015 when the "Trainwreck" star shared a photo on the pair on a Jet Ski. Earlier that month, Schumer shared a video of herself watching an MTV News interview starring Lawrence.
