Jennifer Lopez Net Worth 2019: Does Singer Earn More Than Alex Rodriguez?
Jennifer Lopez has raked in a fortune over the decades, whether it's through her films, music career, TV shows or businesses. But how much is Lopez's net worth really?
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Lopez's net worth is currently estimated to be at $400 million. In the first half of 2018, the "World of Dance" judge had already raked in $47 million, landing at no. 53 on the Forbes Celebrity 100 List. However, this money didn't come from just one source as Lopez has several sources of income.
Lopez earns money from the sales of her music, TV show appearances, movies, Las Vegas residency concert tickets, advertising deals and many more. Her Las Vegas performances, which ran from January 2016 to September 2018, raked in a total of $97.5 million when she held her last show on Sept. 22, Billboard reported.
When Lopez joined the judges' panel on "American Idol" in the singing reality show's 10th season, she reportedly earned $12 to $20 million. However, she left after just two runs.
In 2012, Lopez even soared to no. 1 in Forbes Celebrity 100 List from no. 50 the previous year. During that year, the "Medicine" singer raked in $52 million due to her $20 million gig on "American idol," endorsement deals with L’Oreal, signed deals with Gillette, Fiat and TOUS jewelry, multiple magazine covers and several business ventures, according to Forbes.
The singer-actress has also ventured into the fashion, fragrance and makeup industries. Her Jennifer Lopez collection clothing line has been sold at Kohl's department stores since 2011. Lopez also launched two shoe collections in collaboration with fashion designer Giuseppe Zanotti back in 2017.
In addition, Alex Rodriguez's fiancée collaborated with Inglot for her own makeup line in April 2018.
However, it is in the fragrance market that Lopez seemed to have struck gold as the singer has released over 20 different perfumes over the past several years. She released Glow by JLo, her first fragrance, back in 2003. Lopez later teamed up with Designer Perfumes to release more perfumes in 2017.
Overall, Lopez has a higher net worth than her retired MLB star fiancé, but Rodriguez isn't too far behind. According to CheatSheet, Rodriguez's net worth is estimated to be $350 million. The former baseball player also earns $33 million annually.
Associated Press reported that Rodriguez had already earned $317 million when his New York Yankees contract ended in 2017, but Forbes estimated the total amount to be $480 million upon his retirement.
