Jensen Ackles Speaks About Jared Padalecki's Car Accident: 'He's Lucky To Be Alive'
Jensen Ackles shared details about the car accident his "Supernatural" co-star Jared Padalecki was in, during a fan convention Sunday.
Addressing the 39-year-old actor's absence during the event, Ackles said, "[Padalecki] sends his love. I spoke with him yesterday. He’s sad he can’t be here. He was in a very bad car accident," as per ETCanada.
The 44-year-old went on to share that Padalecki wasn't driving when the accident occurred. "And he’s lucky to be alive," Ackles added.
"That airbag packs a punch. He’s like, ‘I feel like I went 12 rounds with Tyson.’ But he is doing ok, and he’s moving around. But yeah, [it was a] really, really bad car accident," Ackles continued.
The actor requested all the fans to keep Padalecki in their thoughts and said, "Send him some love if you get a chance on social and he’ll be back with us soon."
Ackles and Padalecki portrayed on-screen brothers in the TV series, "Supernatural" since 2005. The final installment of the series was dropped in 2020. Now, the creators are working on the prequel of the series, "The Winchesters."
"Supernatural" revolved around two brothers Sam and Dean Winchester who hunt monsters. "The Winchesters," will feature the events that took place before "Supernatural," mainly around Sam and Dean's parents - John and Mary.
Ackles opened up about the upcoming show earlier this year, revealing that he didn't inform Padalecki about the prequel and he learned about it via social media.
“I didn’t wanna jinx it at any cost, so I shut up about it. Only the people that had to know knew… I definitely had people that I was excited to tell. Jared being number one on that list,” he said on the "Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum" show.
Ackles will be next seen in the flick titled "Rust," starring Alec Baldwin, Travis Fimmel, Brady Noon, and Travis Hammer. Padalecki, on the other hand, is a regular on the crime drama series, "Walker" since 2021. He also worked in series like "Kings of Con" and "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life."
