Jesse Williams Spotted On A Date With Minka Kelly Amid Custody Battle With Estranged Wife

“Grey’s Anatomy” actor Jesse Williams and “Friday Night Lights” alum Minka Kelly were spotted going out on a date this week. The two appeared to have tried hiding their romantic date night from the public as they were seen fully covered from head to toe.

On Monday, Williams and Kelly were seen walking along the streets of West Hollywood after exiting a theater. The pair obviously wanted to keep a low profile on their night out together. While Williams donned an all-black ensemble comprising of black sneakers, pants, hoodie and ball cap, Kelly rocked a gray shirt, denim pants, pink sneakers and a green ball cap. In a photo published by TMZ, Kelly appears to be taken aback by the paparazzi.

The public sighting of the couple is their first ever since their romance was confirmed by an insider to Us Weekly last May. At the time, the insider shared that the 35-year-old actor and the 37-year-old actress have been an item for “a few months” already. However, they wanted to keep their relationship away from the public eye, so they’ve been pretty mum about it.

This week, another source reached out to E! News to confirm that Williams and Kelly are indeed exclusively dating. “They really care about each other and are dating exclusively,” the source said. “Minka has been there for Jesse not only as a girlfriend, but also as a friend.”

Another source chimed in saying Williams really likes the fact that Kelly is very supportive of him. “Jesse is really private with everything especially his relationships but feels open with Minka and she has been supportive and that’s what he needs now,” the source said.

Williams is currently facing a public custody battle with his estranged soon-to-be ex-wife Aryn Drake-Lee. The actor and Drake-Lee filed for divorce last April after about five years of being together as husband and wife. They are parents to Sadie, 3, and Maceo, 21 months.

Meanwhile, Williams’ date night with Kelly comes after his collaboration with Jay-Z for the latter’s video titled “Footnotes from 4:44.” In the clip, Williams addressed reports about him throwing his marriage away for Kelly. “I was in a relationship 13 years, 13 real years, not 5 years, not 7 years — 13 years. All of a sudden [people] are writing think-pieces that I somehow threw a 13-year relationship,” Williams sings in the video.

The actor added that the split is actually “the most painful experience I’ve had in my life with a person I’ve loved with all of my heart,” as quoted by Daily Mail.
