- She deleted her previous posts promoting a weight loss drink
Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon ditched her promotional posts for a simpler life update for her fans on social media.
The 25-year-old reality star took to Instagram Wednesday to share a mirror selfie she took in her bathroom. In the snap, the daughter of June “Mama June” Shannon rocked a pink sweater and dark leggings while doing the peace sign with one hand and holding her smartphone in front of her with the other hand.
The “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” alum did not caption her post with words and instead used a series of emojis to express how she was feeling. They included a bunch of heart emojis and a grinning face with star eyes emoji.
The post was quickly met with a flurry of positive responses from her fans. Some told her that she looked good in the selfie, while others also used emojis to compliment her.
“Cute. Your hair looks gorgeous,” one wrote.
“You look great,” another commented.
“You look beautiful,” a third user added.
Another follower used several fire emojis to convey that Honey Boo Boo’s sister looked amazing in the post.
Shannon’s new social media post comes a week after she got blasted online for promoting a weight loss drink she allegedly spat out in an advertisement clip. She has since deleted the video and her other post featuring the product.
On Feb. 2, Shannon uploaded a video showing her preparing a cup of the Boombod weight loss shot drink. One viewer called her out for subtly expelling the drink back into the cup after taking a sip. Another called her “rubbish” for promoting it to her fans. Many others followed suit and criticized the TV star.
In January, Shannon promoted the same drink, saying she was down with doing the seven-day weight loss challenge with the product. But the reception to her post was also negative at the time, with many slamming her for allegedly “misleading” her fans by crediting the drink for her weight loss when she had surgeries to get rid of the extra pounds.
“Please do not mislead people if you lost weight. It’s just because of bariatric surgery,” one commented.
The Blast reported in April 2020 that the “From Not to Hot” star was splurging on liposuction and enhancement procedures to get fit.
Despite the backlash, many fans continued to voice their support for the reality star. Several said they understood her decision to promote the controversial drink because she also needed to earn money.
“Get the promo money sis,” a fan stated. “Girl power, Jessica. Focus on your dream,” another added.
