Jill Duggar revealed that she drank an alcoholic beverage during her date night with husband Derick Dillard.
Jill and Derick still take the time to have date nights to keep their marriage strong after welcoming their sons Israel David, 5, and Samuel Scott, 3. In one post on Instagram, Jill shared a snap of their date night over the weekend.
"Date night with my favorite person @derickdillard," she wrote in the caption.
"We’ve missed our regular date night outings during covid and have had lots of in home dates, but we were able to swap childcare with friends last night for a date!"
One follower noticed her drink and commented, "Drink looks amazing what is it?"
"A piña colada," Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's daughter responded based on the screenshot shared by People.
"Virgin pina colada or regular?" another netizen asked.
"Regular," Jill answered.
Jill grew up in a conservative and traditional household with specific dating rules and where girls only wear skirts. Everything about the family was documented on TLC's reality show "19 Kids and Counting." Despite drinking an alcoholic beverage, Jill received support from her fans.
"And that is completely ok. Everything in moderation. And even Jesus drank wine. You are obviously not overindulging. Congratulations on making a life of your own. You are still doing what Jesus would do, so relax everybody!!!!!!" one wrote.
"Good for you, Jill!!" another added.
Derick and Jill are no longer part of the Duggar's reality show "Counting On." Derick said they were not compensated for their appearances on the show. Derick also alleged that the Duggar patriarch banned them from the family compound. His revelations started a rift between them and the Duggars. He was hoping that things will mend in time.
"Because our visitation to the Duggar house has been restricted and that is where they and their spouses hang out, we have not been able to see other family as much as we would like, so that is difficult," Derick said in an exclusive interview with The Sun.
"We do try to invite brothers and sisters-in-law over as much as they can come. We hope and pray God would restore relationships where there is brokenness. But, at the same time, we recognize that only God can change people’s hearts and bring healing.”
The couple also revealed that they are planning to leave Arkansas for a future missionary trip.
