Jinger Duggar is speaking out after her brother Josh Duggar was found guilty of receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material Thursday.

On Friday, Jinger released a lengthy statement on Instagram condemning Josh's actions and describing his crimes as a "horrific evil."

The former "Counting On" star began her statement by saying that she was "saddened" for the victims of child sex abuse, for Josh's wife Anna and the couple's seven children and for the "dishonor this has brought upon Christ's name."

Jinger then urged her followers to have compassion for the victims and not to blame the Christain faith for Josh's actions. She also praised the jury for their decision to convict her brother.

"Yet, amidst our sadness, there is gratitude. We are grateful that God is a God of justice who cares for the innocent and the helpless. And, of all the people in this world, he especially loves children, who are among the most vulnerable," she continued. "This reality makes the existence of sex trafficking and child abuse one of the most horrific evils imaginable. It is an evil God hates."

Jinger went on to say that she was grateful that Josh's crimes were exposed and that justice has been served in his case.

"We are praying for further justice, vindication, protection and healing for all those who have been wronged," she concluded.

Josh, 33, was arrested in April and pleaded not guilty to the charges of receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material. After an eight-day trial, he was found guilty on both counts by the jury.

The former reality star, who previously faced child molestation allegations related to his conduct as a teenager, could get up to 20 years of imprisonment and up to $250,000 in fines for each count.

Other members of the Duggar family have since spoken out about Josh's guilty verdict, including his younger sister Jill Duggar, who wrote in her statement that "nobody is above the law" and that Thursday's verdict proved this.

According to Jill, they "have been lied so much that we wanted to hear the evidence for ourselves in court." She went on to say that "the jury reached a just verdict today, consistent with the truth beyond a reasonable doubt."

Jessa Duggar and her husband Ben Seewald also addressed Josh's conviction in a statement released on Seewald's Twitter, saying that they grieve for the children who were exploited and are "thankful for our justice system in its punishment of such evils."

"Our hearts break for Josh's family, and we ask your continued prayers for them n the unfathomable grief and pain they are enduring," they added.

Josh's sentencing is expected in four months, but a date has not been scheduled, pending a pre-sentence investigation, People reported.
