Jinger Duggar Replaces Jessa Seewald At '19 Kids And Counting' Fan Event Due To ‘Unforeseen Circumstances’
Little sister to the rescue! Former "19 Kids and Counting" star Jessa Seewald has been making the rounds across the United States in recent weeks to meet and greet with fans at Southern Women’s Show events, but she won’t be making it to the last stop on her tour.
As noted by the Inquisitr, Jessa, 22, has canceled her upcoming appearance at the Southern Women’s Show in Jacksonville, Florida, Oct. 17. According to the site, her last-minute cancellation is due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
While fans of the Duggar family's former TLC show may be disappointed to learn that Jessa will not be present to do a fan Q&A, there is a silver lining. The site has confirmed that her 21-year-old sister, Jinger Duggar, and her 19-year-old brother, Josiah Duggar, will be filling in for her.
The show’s organizers did not share details about Jessa’s cancellation but it is worth noting that she is mere weeks away from her due date. Jessa and her husband, Ben Seewald, announced in April that they're expecting their first child Nov. 1. The date also coincides with their one-year wedding anniversary.
Jessa has not commented on her decision to back out of the event. She last updated her fans on her life over social media Wednesday, sharing photos of her nephews Michael Duggar and Israel Dillard. “When the baby you’re trying to hold is about as big as you are!” Jessa captioned a shot of Michael, 4, holding Israel, 6 months. Jessa also posted a shot of Ben holding her niece Meredith Duggar. “Awww, melts my hearts!” she wrote. “He got the baby to sleep! He’s gonna be such a good daddy!”
Jessa and Ben have appeared at several Southern Women’s Show events in recent weeks. During the events, fans were encouraged to ask the couple about everything from Jessa’s co-written book, “Growing Up Duggar: It's All About Relationship,” to their personal lives. During their appearance in Orlando, Florida, last month they openly discussed their baby name plans. When asked if they would continue Jessa’s parent’s trend of giving all of their children names that start with the same letter, Ben said he was doubtful they would.
“We thought to ourselves, if we do that, we’ll kind of limit our name selection,” he said, “We thought maybe we’ll keep our options open.”
Duggar fans can catch up with Jessa and Ben later this year on TLC. The network recently announced plans to air a special on the couple’s baby journey.
