Jinger Duggar’s courtship partner isn’t squeaky clean. Following the “Counting On” family’s announcement that Jinger is dating Jeremy Vuolo, the former professional soccer player’s dark secrets have been revealed.

A police report obtained by In Touch shows Vuolo, 28, was detained for harassing a police officer several years ago in New York. A report from the Oneonta Police Department reveals that at around 1 a.m. on Jan. 18, 2008 while police were investigating a possible assault an intoxicated male, Vuolo, was seen “acting belligerent” and “shouting obscenities.” While police tried to tend to Vuolo’s friend who was involved in the suspected assault, Vuolo, who was told to quiet down, reportedly “grabbed” a police officer’s arm in a “forceful manner.” Vuolo was arrested and later released to his friend. He went on to pay a $250 fine.

While Vuolo’s criminal past may shock some Duggar fans, Vuolo has made it clear he’s not the man he once was. In Touch reports Vuolo chocks up the incident to being a part of the party scene in college and says he was “living foolishly.”

“I’m not perfect,” he admitted. “But I sought out accountability and I now see great victory in my life.”

If Jinger, 22, and Vuolo do make it down the aisle he will be far from the first member of the Duggar clan to have a dark past. It was revealed in May 2015 that Josh Duggar, the eldest son of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s 19 children, molested several of his sisters when he was a teenager. Less than three month later, Josh was found to be using the affair website Ashley Madison. After admitting to be unfaithful to his wife Anna, Josh entered into a Christian rehabilitation center. He exited the facility after six months of treatment in March and is now rumored to be want to get back on TV.

Jinger and Jeremy announced their courtship earlier this month, releasing a video explaining how they met. The duo have since been spotted on a double date and their courtship will likely play a big storyline in “Jill & Jessa: Counting On” Season 2. The series returns to TLC later this summer.
