Ashley Biden, the only daughter of U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden, has become engaged and will marry Howard Krein, a physician.

“The Vice President, Dr. Biden and their entire family are thrilled,” said a statement from the vice president’s office.

Ashley, 30, a social worker, and Krein, a Philadelphia-based otolaryngologist and plastic and reconstructive surgeon, were engaged in September. They were dating for just over one year.

The Washington Post reported that during a speech on Friday in Wilmington, Del, Joe Biden repeatedly referred to his “future son-in-law.”

Ashley Biden was reportedly the target of a video set-up two years ago which purported to show her snorting cocaine at a party. Biden was allegedly videotaped (in secret) snorting the coke provided to her by the father of one of her friends.
