After Joe and Tina Simpson, singer and fashionista Jessica Simpson’s parents, split, rumors have been swirling that Joe Simpson might be gay.

Tina Simpson filed divorce papers in Texas last month, TMZ reported, where she stated: "The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities."

As a result, the rumor mill is buzzing that the “discord or conflict” has to do with Joe Simpson admitting to his family that he is gay.

The Simpsons have never hid their religious beliefs, and if it were true that Simpson is gay, it must be a shock for the family.

The National Enquirer reported that Joe and Tina Simpson have decided to finally split because Joe has a boyfriend and was ready to come out of the closet.

“Joe got the family together about two months ago and came out of the closet,” an "insider" asserted.

“He told them that he’d tried to continue in his marriage to Tina, but he couldn’t go on any longer and deny the fact that he had these feelings for men.

“Joe said it wasn’t fair to her, and it wasn’t fair to him."

But the Simpsons’ family rep is denying the claims. The rep told Fox News:

"It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved. Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time."

The Simpsons have been married since 1978.

According to divorce documents that were obtained by TMZ, Tina Simpson has claimed that she has separate property that she does not want to split with her husband in the divorce.

Fox News added that there are strict rules when it comes to how divorcing spouses must act toward one another in the county Tina filed in. If those rules are violated, they could be found in contempt of court.

Not surprisingly, Joe does not want Tina to get anything from the split.

The Simpson parents were both responsible for helping their daughters, Ashlee and Jessica Simpson, achieve Hollywood stardom.

Both daughters have already been married and divorced once each, with Jessica currently engaged to NFL player Eric Johnson, the father of her only child, Maxwell Drew.
