John Cena Supports Nikki Bella’s ‘DWTS’ Routine, Wants Fiancée To Quit Wrestling
Nikki Bella seems to be enjoying her time on “Dancing With the Stars,” and with her success in the dance competition and other ventures like her clothing and wine line, her fiancé, John Cena, is ready for her to quit her career as a wrestler with the WWE.
On Monday, Cena tweeted his support for his future wife, urging fans to vote for her in the ABC dancing competition. “A full day in Sector 7 keeps me away from #DWTS but a big night 4 @BellaTwins in a history making routine!” he wrote while also sharing the phone number where votes can be cast.
Although the “Bumblebee” actor is thrilled for Bella’s latest career move, tearing up the dance floor, the “Total Divas” star admitted that Cena is ready for her to close the door on her wrestling career. After suffering a neck injury in 2015, the star was able to recover, but doctors warned her about taking caution when it comes to wrestling.
Although she has healed, Cena isn’t happy about her return to the ring. “He is like, ‘You have your health. Why continue? You’ve done everything you can as a WWE superstar.’ But I don’t believe that. There’s so much more us females can do and I always want to be at the forefront of that,” she told Fox News.
Even though she spent time in the hospital following her injury, the star was eager to return to doing what she loves. Bella explained that her only thoughts were “to get back into that ring. Even when I woke up from surgery, my first thing, looking at my doctor, I was like, ‘Did it work?’ Because all I could think about is my comeback…and that’s why I came back seven months later.”
The “Total Bellas” star revealed that she attempts to take precautions when it comes to her injury but she does find herself in situations that are a risk to her health. “I do put myself in positions that I shouldn’t. But at the end of the day, I am a professional and so I know what I’m doing and I know how to stay safe,” she explained.
While Bella is well aware that her neck injury which could have paralyzed her could happen again, she does her best not to focus on the negative. “There have been scary moments where I have tweaked my neck a little bit but I think when you think about those things…you kind of put yourself more in a situation to get injured and so I kind of go in there and I don’t think about it.”
Bella also admitted she was grateful for Cena who stayed with her through all of her struggles. She revealed that her future husband never left her side. “He really kept me strong and motivated and he was very inspiring to me because of how he would come back from his [own] injuries,” she said.
For now, it doesn’t look like Bella is interested in fulfilling Cena’s wishes of quitting wrestling but the star remains focused on keeping her head in the game and advancing to the next round of the dancing competition.
