KEY POINTS

  • John Cena has wrestled in at least one Pay-Per-View match in the last 17 years
  • His last PPV match was back in 2018
  • John Cena made his PPV debut in 2002

John Cena made his pay-per-view (PPV) match debut in July 2002 when he took on Chris Jericho at WWE Vengeance. Ever since then, John Cena has wrestled at least one PPV match every single year.

With 2019 coming to a close end, the WWE Universe fears that John Cena's glorious 17-year streak might well be coming to an end. The American wrestler has been a very regular participant in the WWE for over a decade until he began his transition into the Hollywood industry.

Cena's last PPV match was in October 2018 at Super Showdown, where he had tagged along Bobby Lashley to defeat Kevin Owens and Elias. His last WWE fight was on Jan. 14 in an episode of WWE RAW.

The 42-year-old was expected to wrestle (PPV) at WrestleMania 35 when he came out as the Doctor of Thuganomics to interrupt Elias, but he did not fight.

John Cena's final chance to save his 17-year streak is on Monday if he fights at the TLC PPV. The WWE superstar has created some sparks regarding a possible TLC match by sending out a message on Instagram.

"The Streak" might well be hinting at his PPV run. The image has led to massive speculation that John Cena might make a surprise appearance in Monday's TLC match. He could also find a partner to answer the Viking Raiders' open challenge for the RAW Tag Team Championship, but that is an even lesser possibility.

However, one must not forget John Cena's habit of posting random pictures on his social media accounts with no context at all. WWE Universe can only hope that this particular post has some solid reference and he indeed lives up to the hype he has now created.
