John David Duggar had a plane crash accident three months ago, according to a report.
The 32-year-old aviation enthusiast was piloting an aircraft with two passengers on board when he had to land it in a field in Waverly, Tennessee, due to a double engine failure. Based on the accident report obtained by In Touch, the incident happened on Oct. 29, 2021, and the Piper PA-30 suffered "substantial" damage. Fortunately, John David and his passengers were not injured.
The Humphrey County Sheriff's Office in Tennessee only confirmed that a "family" was involved in the crash. Thus, there were speculations that John David's passengers were his wife, Abbie, and their 1-year-old daughter, Grace. The plane he flew was registered to his company and based in his hometown, Springdale, Arkansas. The National Transportation Safety Board is still investigating the incident.
Both John David and Abbie are fans of aviation and have pilot licenses. They took some of their wedding photos in November 2018 on a runway next to an airplane and held their reception inside an airplane hangar, Us Weekly reported.
When they were expecting their first child, they announced the pregnancy by sharing a photo of them in a cockpit of an airplane holding a baby onesie that read, "Baby Passenger on Board."
The couple marks most of their milestones with an aircraft or anything related to their passion for flying. Last year, Abbie celebrated her birthday by watching the SUN' n FUN air show in Lakeland, Florida. The family was accompanied by his twin sister, Jana Duggar.
John David and Jana, 32, were the third eldest children of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. Jana is the eldest daughter, and unlike most of her younger sisters, she's single.
Last year, Jana was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor due to an incident that occurred in Arkansas on Sept. 10. She shared the "raw facts" of the incident after "the media has been having a field day with it all."
Jana said she was babysitting when one of the children wandered outside. It was a case of a child slipping out of the house. She was never arrested.
Initially, she pleaded not guilty. However, earlier this month, she pleaded guilty to the citation and settled it outside the district court in Elm Springs, Arkansas. She paid $880, and the charge was adjudicated.
