John Krasinski surprised his fans during an early screening of his long-awaited horror sequel "A Quiet Place Part II" when he popped in at a theater in Miami.
The film, directed by Krasinski, is slated to hit theaters on May 28. It stars Krasinski's wife, Emily Blunt, along with Cillian Murphy, Noah Jupe, Millicent Simmonds and Lauren-Ashley Cristiano in key roles.
The actor-director took to Instagram on Thursday to share a video of his unannounced visit and wrote, "I said I was going to bring out A Quiet Place Part II when we could all see it together. Well... it's TIME! #AQuietPlace2 May 28th!!! #TheatersAreBACK !!!"
The "Office" star was welcomed with cheers and a huge round of applause before he addressed the fans and took selfies with them.
"I'm going around theaters all across the county, popping in like this to say thank you," Krasinski said. "Let's watch movies together, let's be together. Thank you so much!
The movie was originally scheduled to release in March 2020. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the sequel got delayed.
About working with Blunt, the actor told ET last year, "She [Blunt] is the most incredible partner in writing and directing and set designs. She just has such good ideas."
"So I actually felt like I had my partner in all things on set, not just the best actress in the world," he added. "Anything I can think of, she makes 10 times better so that's a pretty good weapon to have on set."
The actor shared the theater visit video on Twitter also.
"Saw you in Law & Order! Come a long way! Congrats on all your success!" one of his fans commented, while another fan wrote, "I wish I could see in the theater also."
One user wrote, "I'm jealous but patiently waiting for when our theatres open here in Canada so I can watch it on the big screen!"
A fan noted that the movie will be worth the wait and commented, "I can't wait to see this film... I'm not a horror fan, and AQP is not in that genre... it's an amazing drama, and I am assuming that AQPII will be the same. Cillian is the icing on the cake. Thank You, Thank You. It will be worth the wait."
