John Mayer Has Nothing To Say About Katy Perry Calling Him Her ‘Best Lover’

John Mayer had basically nothing to say about Katy Perry calling him the “best lover” she’s ever had.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Mayer was asked about what he thought of the odd compliment Perry had made about him during her June 12 appearance on “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” Although Mayer did care to comment, his answer strongly implied that he’s done playing such “games.”

“I don’t have a cool-enough thought for you,” the seven-time Grammy winner told the interviewer. “I’ve hacked this game. I pay very little of the price of fame now. I get to play the music that moves me the most. I’m having the time of my life. I’m 39 — I remember 32. I don’t wanna do it again.”

In the June 12 episode of “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” Corden challenged Perry to rank three of her celebrity exes — Diplo, Orlando Bloom and John Mayer — from best to worst in bed or she had to eat a 1,000-year-old egg during a game of “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts.”

“They’re all amazing lovers, and I would have sex with all of them after I get out of this place,” she said. But when pressed, she named Diplo third, Bloom as second and gave Mayer the top spot.

While Mayer decided to stay quiet about Perry in his interview with the Rolling Stone, he recently admitted to The New York Times that his new song “Still Feel Like Your Man” is about the “Roar” hitmaker, whom he dated between 2012 and 2015. “Who else would I be thinking about?” Mayer said of Perry’s reference in the song. “And by the way, it’s a testament to the fact that I have not dated a lot of people in the last five, six years. That was my only relationship. So it’s like, give me this, people.”

In the same interview, Mayer revealed that out of all the women he’s ever dated, he had the most difficult time getting over Perry. “What has to happen for a guy to believe that he’s totally well-adjusted and be that far out of touch?” he said. “My GPS was shattered, just shattered [after the split].”
