John Mulaney is now legally single after his divorce from his ex-wife Anna Marie Tendler got finalized.
Mulaney, 39, and Tendler, 36, finalized their divorce Thursday in New York City. Their marriage officially ended just five months after he filed for divorce, Us Weekly reported.
The speedy process was not surprising. In November, an insider said Mulaney wanted to speed up his divorce from Tendler while waiting for his baby with his girlfriend, Olivia Munn.
"John wants to speed things up and get the divorce done," an unnamed source told Page Six at the time. "He’s becoming a father, so he switched to a new law firm with a reputation of being tough and efficient."
Mulaney and Munn secretly welcomed their son in November, a day before Thanksgiving. Although they didn't share the news of their baby's birth on the day they welcomed him, the couple shared photos of their newborn on Christmas Day on social media.
"Meet Malcolm Hiệp Mulaney," the comedian wrote alongside a photo of his baby sleeping soundly while wrapped in a cozy blanket and blue beanie. "He has his whole life ahead of him. He hasn’t even tried seltzer yet. I’m very in love with him and his whole deal. Happy holidays."
Munn shared a similar photo on her Instagram account. "My Golden Ox baby. Malcolm Hiệp Mulaney. Happy holidays," she wrote in the caption.
The "Saturday Night Live" alum filed for divorce in July, two months after they announced their split in May. It happened months after he went to rehab for alcoholism and cocaine addiction.
Mulaney checked into a 60-day program at a Pennsylvania facility in December after being sober for 10 years. In February, his rep confirmed that he had completed the 60-day program and continued it through outpatient care. Months later, his split from Tendler made headlines.
The artist said Mulaney asked for divorce "three months ago." She admitted that his decision was difficult for her.
"I am heartbroken that John has decided to end our marriage," Tendler said in a statement to People. "I wish him support and success as he continues his recovery."
Shortly after their split, Mulaney was romantically linked to Munn.
Mulaney confirmed his relationship with Munn and her pregnancy when he appeared on "Late Night With Seth Meyers " in September He insisted that he only met the "X-Men: Apocalypse" star after leaving his home with Tendler. But the netizens were not convinced with his explanation and accused him of infidelity.
Munn has remained unbothered with the various speculations about her relationship with Mulaney. In November, she told Los Angeles Times that she was used to hearing people make wrong assumptions about her.
"It's definitely not foreign for me to have people speculate incorrectly about things and to have rumors run rampant in one way," she told the outlet. "They think they know our relationship so well. When in reality, they don't. There’s no way anyone could know what any of his relationships were or what our relationship is."
