JoJo Siwa Trades Signature Long Hair For Short Hairstyle: 'HAPPPPPY' [Photo]
JoJo Siwa is in a jubilant mood after ditching her iconic long ponytail and achieving a much shorter hairstyle.
"HAPPPPPY," the 18-year-old singer and actress wrote on her Instagram page Thursday after sharing a photo of her short hairdo, which she paired with multiple earrings and a huge smile.
The teen star's post received over half a million likes, while her celebrity friends gushed over her transformation.
"OBSESSEDDDDDDDDDD," "Teen Beach" actress Mollee Gray commented.
Actor and Radio Disney host Cameron McLeod wrote, "YOOOOOOOOOOOO. WAiT are we HAIR TWINS?"
Demi Lovato also said, "Omg yaaasss!!!!!!"
Nickelodeon's Instagram page also left a message in the comments section. "LOVE IT," the message read.
The "Dancing With The Stars" alum teased her hair transformation Wednesday by posting a video from her hairdresser's place. The short clip garnered over 269,000 likes.
"Mayyyyy have done something todayyyy," she said in the short clip as her stylist cut a good portion of her blonde hair.
"IM LITERALLY STOKED," Gray commented. May fans demanded the teen star to reveal her new hairstyle.
This is not the first time JoJo traded her side ponytails and big hair bow to change her look. In April 2020, she showed fans a different side to her colorful personality when she departed from her usual glittery, metallic look and sported relaxed waves and a black t-shirt in a TikTok video.
Last June, she told Instagram head Adam Mosseri that she wanted to have a "more mature" hairstyle for her 18th birthday.
"I've worn a bow, obviously, for the last 18 years of my life," JoJo said in a chat with Mosseri during Instagram's Creator Week. "I just had my 18th birthday, and it was right around my birthday that I realized, 'You know, I kinda want to do my hair different today.'"
"It felt like the right time to do something different and to do something, you know, maybe a little bit more mature…like a little upgrade," she added. However, that doesn't mean her love for bows has disappeared entirely.
"They're who I am," she said, "but I just, you know, maybe won't wear it every day."
