Jordin Sparks and husband Dana Isaiah have revealed the gender of their first child together.
The couple, who tied the knot last July, took to Instagram on Thursday to announce that their having a son.
“IT’S A BOY!!!” Sparks captioned a photo of her and Isaiah smiling at the camera while holding what appears to be blue confetti. “We have so much to be thankful for and this is definitely at the top of the list!”
Sparks, who rose to fame in 2007 after winning the sixth season of “American Idol,” ended her post by expressing how excited they are for their son’s arrival. “We can't wait to meet him,” she wrote. We love you lil man!”
For his part, Isaiah assured their baby that they will welcome him into the world with open arms. “How beautiful it is to remain silent when someone expects you to be enraged,” the model and fitness enthusiast wrote on the social media site, alongside a picture of him and Sparks. “Son, you will be welcomed into this world with nothing but love from the people that matter. There will always be haters get used to it now. Just know your parents and family got you!”
Sparks and Isaiah revealed that they are expecting their first child together in an interview with People earlier this month. The “No Air” hitmaker told the news outlet that it was August when she discovered that she’s pregnant.
“It was about five days after [Houston native Isaiah] moved to Los Angeles,” Sparks said. “He comes in and I go ‘I’m pregnant.’ It was such a shock for both of us. I turned around and started bawling in the closet. It’s been really crazy because everything changes. Everything has been so crazy and fast-forward. Once we got over the initial shock of it, now again just like it is with the marriage, to be able to share that this amazing thing is happening, it’s such a great thing. We did this together!”
Prior to meeting Isaiah, Sparks dated rapper Jason Derulo for three years and ended their relationship in 2014.
