"Jujutsu Kaisen" Chapter 166 Recap

The chapter opened with a flashback. Higuruma was asked by Yoshizawa if he wanted to be a public prosecutor or defense lawyer. Yoshizawa then asked him if he wanted to try becoming a judge.

The scene transitioned to Judgeman finding Itadori guilty of killing people in Shibuya. He read out his punishment and gave him the death penalty with confiscation.

Almost immediately, Higuruma whipped out his Executioner's Sword. He noted Itadori received the harshest punishment ever.

Firstly, confiscation removed Itadori's ability to use his cursed energy, and then Higuruma was ready to use the Executioner's Sword to cut him.

Before attacking Itadori, Higuruma noted that empathizing with human emotions meant understanding their weaknesses. However, he was fed up with it. Meanwhile, Itadori was ready to fight Higuruma with no cursed energy to assist him.

Itadori flung the chairs at Higuruma who easily destroyed them and went after the former.

The battle continued between the fighters and Higuruma realized how powerful Itadori was. The chapter switched back into flashback mode as Higuruma told Yoshizawa that he could not become a judge because he found people "weak and ugly." Moreover, he was not ambitious enough to try out for such a high post in the legal system.

Switching back to the present, Higuruma revealed he knew Itadori did not commit the crime. The evidence envelope revealed Sukuna, who overpowered Itadori's consciousness, was the one behind the murders.

Toward the end of the chapter, Higuruma found Itadori innocent and even decided to give his 100 points.

"Jujutsu Kaisen" chapters release every week. Fans can read the chapters online on Manga Plus and Viz.
