Julianne Hough Reveals Engagement To Brooks Laich On Social Media

The next performance Julianne Hough has to prepare for is her wedding dance. The “Dancing with the Stars” alumna announced Tuesday she is engaged to hockey player Brooks Laich.

Hough posted a picture of herself on Twitter and Instagram in Laich’s arms with her left hand raised. The couple appeared to be overjoyed, but they haven't shared any details about the proposal or the ring. Unfortunately, fans can’t get a good glimpse of the diamond in the photo.

Hough, 27, and Laich, 32, started dating in 2013 after being introduced by a mutual friend. “He's a wonderful guy. ... I'm very lucky that my friend I shot ‘Curve’ with, the movie I just did, introduced us,” the actress told E! Online in February 2014.

Laich, who plays for the Washington Capitals, and Hough have not been shy about showing affection for each other. They’ve been photographed kissing in airports and going on romantic ice skating dates. They've also shared personal moments from birthdays and vacations with their fans on social media.

The “Grease: Live” star has been open about her love for Laich, and she revealed to Redbook in August 2014 she felt their relationship was healthier than any of her other relationships. “Every relationship, there was nothing wrong or bad, but there was nothing right. I had one foot out because I didn't want to get hurt,” she said. “And I didn't say what was on my mind because I didn't want to ruffle any feathers. I needed to be perfect. Now I'm not holding anything back because I'd rather get my heart broken than never know what it is to be completely, madly in love.”

This will be the first marriage for both. Hough was previously engaged to dancer Zach Wilson in 2007.
