July 4th Fireworks New Jersey 2011: Spots to Catch the Action
July 4th is upon us and it's time for some fireworks. The New York City Macy's fireworks may be the biggest and most famous show in the country, but there is plenty of action in across the Hudson River in New Jersey, one of the thirteen original colonies and a state known as the Crossroads of the Revolution.
Here are spots to catch some of the action:
Atlantic City's Marina District (9:20 p.m.)
Atlantic City Boardwalk (9:45 p.m.)
Point Pleasant Beach's Jenkinson's Boardwalk
Long Branch's Promenade (Oceanfest from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., fireworks at 9:00 p.m.)
Ocean City's 9th Street beach (some time after 5:00 p.m.)
Cape May's Congress Hall (9:00 p.m.)
Bergen County's Foschini Park (9:15 p.m.)
Newark's Branch Brook Park (concert at 7:30 p.m., fireworks afterwards)
Jersey City, unfortunately, had canceled its July 4th fireworks due to financial woes.
Have your heart set on seeing that New York City Macy's July 4th fireworks? Northern New Jersey offers some of the best views.
In particular, Waterfront Park in Weehawken, Maxwell Park in Hoboken, and The Heights in Jersey City are great spots, according to Mommy Poppins NJ.
