After delivering stunning performances in the sequel, Justice Smith and Daniella Pineda will be back in “Jurassic World 3.” They will be reprising their respective roles of Franklin Webb and Zia Rodriguez.

Franklin and Zia were introduced in the sequel as members of the Dinosaur Protection Group run by Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard). Collider has confirmed that the two characters will now be back to take on the dinosaur menace that has spread to the main land after the events in the sequel.

The Dinosaur Protection Group was formed in order to save the dinosaurs from an active volcano in the island they were living in. Franklin was the systems analyst of the group and Zia was a former Marine who worked as a paleoveterinarian.

Apart from Howard, the other main cast members who have been confirmed are Chris Pratt, and BD Wong. The original “Jurassic Park” stars Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern will also be reprising their roles. The other actors whose characters haven’t yet been revealed are Mamoudou Athie and DeWanda Wise.

Colin Trevorrow is back to direct “Jurassic World 3.” In a recent interview with Empire, the director revealed that they have come up with an idea to bring the original cast members back into the franchise in an organic way. He confirmed that the trio Alan Grant, Ian Malcolm, and Ellie Stattler will go back to the theme park, and things will once again go wrong for them.

Trevorrow said that he and the co-writer of the script with Emily Carmichael are working with veteran actors to come up with ideas about their characters. He explained that they have to approach it by asking basic questions like who these characters are now after so many years, and what they make of this new world.

“Jurassic World 3” will be released on June 11, 2021. Trevorrow has teased that it will be a “science thriller,” Entertainment Weekly reported.
