Jurgen Klopp's Motivating Words For Liverpool Ahead Of UCL Final Vs Real Madrid

Jurgen Klopp said he hopes Liverpool FC can make the most of their experience in major finals ahead of their UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid on Saturday.

It is going to be Liverpool’s third Champions League final in the last five seasons. Real Madrid defeated Liverpool in the 2017-18 final in Kyiv. However, following that, Klopp’s Liverpool reached the final yet again and this time, they lifted the club’s sixth Champions League title by beating Tottenham in Madrid.

Ever since the Reds have won the Premier League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, League Cup, and FA Cup. The last two trophies have come in the ongoing 2021-22 campaign.

Ahead of the final showdown in Paris, Klopp was asked how his side has evolved since their loss to Real Madrid in Kyiv. The German boss replied, "Oh, we did it the Liverpool way, which is the hard way. So, we lost [some] big finals, obviously; in the first year [of his time in charge], Europa League final, and the Carabao Cup final. All of these experiences are important in life. But they are not nice [in] any way."

The German boss added that his side’s losses in those big finals taught them "how to win" and to be at the "top level of their focus and concentration" in a game like the upcoming fixture against Los Blancos.

The Anfield side experienced a lot of struggles before they finished third in the league and secured Champions League soccer. By making it to the final the subsequent season, Klopp’s side has shown it has "developed" over the years.

"I think if we are not entering a world-class team already but you want to get there then you’re going to have to learn [how]. And that’s what we did and I’m really happy with how the boys have developed over the years. That’s why the group has been pretty together since then. [This hasn’t] happened a lot but some players are playing a third Champions League final, which is absolutely incredible," added Klopp in the same interview.

Meanwhile, Klopp is sweating over midfielder Thiago Alcantara's injury ahead of the Champions League final. The Spaniard picked up a hamstring injury on Liverpool's final league fixture, which ended in a 3-1 victory over Wolves.
