Justin Bieber Desires to Be A 'Normal Kid,' He Says on Twiiter [PHOTOS]
Pop/R&B superstar, Justin Bieber, is a household name. His winning smile, iconic mop top, and sweet, milky voice have been the objects of affection for girls all around the world. Not only is he perhaps the teen idol of this generation for his good looks, he is also a critically successful artist.
Bieber's first release in 2009, My World, was certified platinum in the US. He is the first artist to have seven songs from a debut album on the Billboard Hot 100. His next album debuted at number 1 and was also certified platinum. Fans are excited to hear his yet to be named Christmas album out later in the fall.
He is definitely riding the wave when it comes to social networking websites as well. Bieber has over 12 million followers on Twitter--about 200,000 more than Lady Gaga and 3 million more than Barack Obama. The singer has over 35 million fans on Facebook and almost 2 billion views on YouTube.
The mega-star has toured all around the world in sold out concerts, including Madison Square Garden in NYC. In 2011, MTV Films released a 3D documentary/concert film following the life of Bieber up until his opening at Madison Square Garden. He has been featured on the cover of Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, Seventeen, and People Magazine. Bieber also came out with his own fragrance this year called Someday, that has been very successful. He has been nominated for two Grammy awards and has received countless of awards and nominations in teen award shows.
Bieber is a name about town--you know his name, you know his face, you know all his life via Twitter and the endless surveillance thanks to paparazzi. It is as if Justin Bieber is not even a person... only a name. A singer. An idol. However, the young star is actually a 17 year old kid from Ontario, Canada.
He sky-rocketed into fame after posting several videos of his performances in talent shows on YouTube. Pretty soon, his now manager, Scooter Braun encountered his videos. Bieber was later taken to Atlanta where he was introduced to elite colleagues in the music industry. There, he was introduced to Usher.
A week later Usher flew me back to Atlanta, says Bieber. I sang for him and his people and he really wanted to sign me then and there but I still had a meeting with Justin Timberlake who also wanted to sign me. It turned out Usher's deal was way better. He had L.A. Reid backing him up and Scooter had a lot of really good connections in Atlanta, he recalls.
In 2008, Bieber was signed to Island records, and the rest is history.
Beiber has definitely had a long year, packed with promotionals, award shows, and recording in the studio. At only 17, he has a very busy life--not just because of his chosen field, but because of his name alone. A fan on Twitter asked him if he would like to be a normal kid again, just for one day. yeah...for more than 1 day, he replied early on Sept. 5.
but i feel really blessed to do what i do. very grateful. i am normal though, he followed his response with that second thought. Bieber has a roller coaster life. It may seem fun most days, but everyone likes a pause from the fast life once and a while. Justin really needs to be surrounded by childhood friends who will still treat him as one of the gang instead of God, said Dr. Patrick Wanis, a behavioral expert. Maybe with some time with old pas, he will remember what it is like to be a normal kid again.
