Justin Bieber Performs 'Stay' At MTV VMAs; Hailey Cheers From The Crowd [Video]
Justin Bieber returned to the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) Sunday, six years after he had last taken the award show's stage, and his wife, Hailey Bieber, couldn't stop cheering for him during his performance.
The 27-year-old singer performed his music track "Stay," which dropped on July 9, with rapper The Kid LAROI at New York's Barclays Center. Bieber also sang "Ghost" from his "Justice" music album, which was released in March 2021.
The official Twitter handle of VMAs created a poll on Sunday to ask, "Who should we spy on during their performance?" According to the poll results, 53% of users voted for Hailey's reaction to be recorded during Bieber's number.
After a couple of minutes, the award show's official handle shared a video of Justin performing on stage while Hailey cheered for him from the crowd.
"Aw, Ms. Baldwin Bieber! Suuuper cute choice, u guys Let's see what she's up to," VMAs captioned the clip.
In the clip, the 24-year-old model could be seen enjoying the music as she danced to the song. She then clapped her hands in the air, a huge smile on her face. While Justin could be seen wearing a black hoodie during his performance, Hailey donned a beautiful purple dress.
Fans were quick to share their reactions on Twitter, with most of them praising Justin's epic comeback and Hailey's look and supportive gesture.
One of the fans shared a photo of the couple and wrote, "Omg Hailey...the most gorgeous and supportive wife. He killed it there, wow Justin's voice is everything!!"
A fan commented on Hailey, noting, "she's so cute omg."
Another fan praised the model, writing, "Queen Hailey serving looks."
Justin's last appearance on the VMAs stage took place in 2015. He performed "What Do You Mean?" back then.
This year, apart from being a performer at the show, the singer was also nominated for seven awards, including "Video of the Year," "Artist of the Year," "Best Collaboration" and "Best Pop."
Other nominees at this year's VMAs included BTS, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Drake, Giveon and Lil Nas X. Meanwhile, artists like Olivia Rodrigo, The Kid LAROI and 24kGoldn received their first-time multiple nominations.
Justin will lend his voice to the movie "Cupid," which is currently under pre-production.
