Justin Hartley recounted when he first met his wife Sofia Pernas when he was still not romantically available.
Hartley, 44, and Pernas, 32, are currently enjoying their married life. They first met when they worked on "The Young and the Restless" from 2015 and 2016. However, at the time, she wasn't on his radar because he was in a relationship with Chrishell Stause, whom he married in 2017 and divorced two years later.
"You meet in different capacities. We didn't work together that closely, and we didn't work together that long," Hartley told Haute Living. "I knew that she was very kind and very nice. I liked being around her. But I was in a different place in my life. I wasn't available."
He continued, "Timing has a lot to do with that. I'm very lucky to not only have found 'the one,' but I found her when she was available and the timing was right."
The "This Is Us" star confirmed that they tied the knot in March, and "we are so happy." He went on to say that it's "incredible" when one doesn't force things, adding that things do not have to be hard. And that's how Hartley felt feeling about his relationship with Pernas.
"You just meet the right person and you just go, 'Oh, this is amazing. It's just so wonderful!' You're so attracted and so attached to this person. You just love this person so much," he said while gushing over his wife. "Even though we've only been married a few months, it's hard to remember what it was like without her."
They couldn't be together when they first met. However, Hartley felt that she was the one for him when they met again. At present, he is very happy and satisfied with his married life because he feels at peace, loved and appreciated. He added that his wife felt the same and gave his fans an overview of their happy marriage.
"We just have a really great relationship and a really terrific family. It's healthy and it's wonderful," he said.
Hartley and Stause split in 2019, with the latter claiming she only learned about their divorce via text. He was "irritated" when Stause talked about their breakup on "Selling Sunset."
Last month, Stause reacted to reports about Hartley and Pernas' marriage. The "Days of Our Lives" star has seemingly moved on, and so she wished them the best.
"My ex-husband, Justin, is remarried to someone I know from back in the day pretty well. And a lot of things made sense after finding that out," Stause told Us Weekly. "I wish them the best. You know, I think that it actually, if anything, it felt good to know that. It felt like a little bit of closure."
