Justin Theroux, Jennifer Aniston Update: ‘The Leftovers’ Star Shares The Secret To His Happy Marriage With Aniston Amid Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie Divorce
Justin Theroux and Jennifer Anison have been enjoying a blissful marriage life since tying the knot last year, and according to “The Leftovers” star, their sense of humor and respect for each other make their relationship work.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 45-year-old recently dished on his relationship with the “Friends” alum, whom he wed in August last year after four years of dating, and shared the secrets of their happy marriage. According to the actor, their relationship is based on mutual respect and the ability to appreciate each other’s jokes.
"We appreciate each other's sense of humor, we respect one another and we get along. I know it sounds simple, but it's true,” he told the publication while promoting his upcoming movie, “Girl on the Train.”
Aniston, 47, also previously opened up about her husband during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, where she revealed that Theroux often makes her laugh. “I’m lucky because Justin is the funniest person I’ve met, and we make each other laugh. Laughter is one of the great keys to staying youthful,” she shared.
Theroux and Aniston aren’t the only Hollywood couple enjoying a successful marriage. Theroux’s “Girl on the Train” co-star Emily Blunt is happily married to husband of six years John Krasinski, and the pair welcomed their second child back in June.
Theroux shared that although Blunt had done her best to keep her pregnancy a secret during the filming of the Tate Taylor film, he eventually found out after observing her strange behavior during production. He shared that he first became suspicious of Blunt being pregnant when his co-star refused to perform a simple stunt that required her to jump up from the floor and dash a few feet across the room.
“She was like, ‘Yeah, I don’t think I’d be sitting on the floor. I think I’d be leaning against the counter.’ We were like, ‘No, it makes total sense for you to be sitting on the floor. And then you just get up and run.’ She was like, ‘Nah, I’m not gonna do that. I’m gonna twist my hip or something,’” he told ET.
Theroux explained that this was strange behavior for Blunt, since she had no problem “throwing Tom Cruise across the room [in ‘Edge of Tomorrow’] and going toe-to-toe with Benicio Del Toro [in ‘Sicario’].” He added, “Later that day, we went back to my place and she was not having a cocktail and I asked, ‘Are you pregnant?’ And she was like, ‘Shhh!!’ And we had a big hug over that. It was a little secret we had to keep for a while until it became obvious.”
Theroux and Blunt are joined by Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett and Luke Evans in the film based on Paula Hawkin’s 2015 novel “The Girl on the Train.”
“The Girl on the Train” hits theaters Oct. 7.
