Meanwhile, in the penultimate installment, Ishigami’s backstory comes at the forefront. Episode 11 puts a spotlight on this character, which has lacked layers so far in the season.

It is heartening to see how far Ishigami has come after he decides to participate in the sport’s festival organized by Shuchiin Academy.

In the first half of the episode, Ishigami is happy after the victory in the three-legged race. However, the mood changes when Kyoko Otomo arrives and reminds him of his past.

Later, Ishigami is informed that the cheerleading squad’s leader has twisted his ankle, and he will need to fill in.

The leader is supposed to run the anchor leg in the relay, but after the injury, he is unable to move. He asks Ishigami to be the anchor leg for the next game. The leader tells him that he is aware of his middle school achievements on the track.

However, in the presence of Otomo, Ishigami gets depressed and nervous. With an important event in line, Ishigami reflects on the incident that has impacted his life.

Towards the end of the episode, Ishigami loses, but his friends in the squad praise him for his efforts during the game.
