After enjoying a brief romance with singer Miley Cyrus, model-turned-blogger Kaitlynn Carter is finally opening up on how she felt while being in a relationship with the “Slide Away” hitmaker.

While writing an essay for Elle, the 31-year-old star admitted that even when her relationship with Cyrus lasted for just around a month, she had fallen madly in love with the 26-year-old singer while taking a vacation in Europe.

Citing Cyrus as her “female friend” in the op-ed, Carter noted as soon as she went on a holiday with the “Malibu” hitmaker, she knew that she had fallen in love with her for real. Though it was not easy for her to develop those feelings so easily, that was the time she realized she “never really had a type” and is capable of loving a woman.

The blogger also confessed that she has never loved any woman the way she loved Cyrus.

The “Hannah Montana” actress and Carter started dating each other in August when Cyrus announced her separation from ex-husband and actor Liam Hemsworth. On the other hand, Carter was coming into this relationship after a breakup from her estranged husband, Brody Jenner.

Later in the essay, the model also revealed that her love for Cyrus was not sudden as she realized that she was “always drawn” towards her throughout their three-year friendship. She spent the entire August traveling through Europe with Cyrus and tried to divert her mind from her previous relationships.

She also noticed that people might have different opinions about her relationship with the “Don’t Call Me Angel” singer, but she knew that she doesn’t have to listen to people and “overanalyze” the situation.

“I didn’t have to think about a thing or overanalyze. It just happened and it felt exactly right. Reflecting back on our three-year friendship, I realized I’d always been drawn to her in a way I wasn’t with the other friends,” Carter said.

Carter concluded the essay by being “eternally grateful” to Cyrus and their “short-lived” relationship for “opening her eyes” to sides of herself she never knew she had.

“I’ve been forced to get to know myself in a far deeper way than ever before, and not just in terms of my sexual preferences. I’ve also been forced to reckon with who I am as a person,” Carter concluded.

In September, the duo decided to part ways after it was claimed that the “Wrecking Ball” hitmaker was not ready for another “serious relationship” at that point in time. A source told People that the 26-year-old musician was not looking for anything “serious” and wanted to focus on her career.

The rumors of their relationship emerged when Cyrus was spotted kissing Carter just hours after the announcement of her split with Hemsworth. The pair were seen together on numerous occasions but never commented about their sightings together.

The “We Can’t Stop” songstress has moved on from her previous relationship quite fast and is enjoying her time with the Aussie singer Cody Simpson. Cyrus took the “La Da Dee” singer as her date to her younger brother’s marriage earlier this week.
