Kanye West, Kim Kardashian Offer Free Pair Of Yeezy Boost Sneakers To Man Looking For Kidney Donor
Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian are offering to give a man a free pair of the sought after Yeezy Boost sneakers, which were designed by the rapper in collaboration with Adidas. They made the offer after they found out that he has been offering to give away his pair in exchange of a healthy working kidney.
“People are always joking that they would give a kidney for a pair of yeezy's!!” said Facebook user Matt Neal. He posted in the Facebook page WDYWT (What Did You Wear Today) and showed off a pair of the coveted sneakers.
In the post, he explained that he is 26 years old and has 2 failing kidneys. He then offered to trade his size 8 Yeezy Boost sneakers for one working kidney.
According to TMZ, Neal’s kidneys are failing because he is suffering from Berger’s disease. He is already on a transplant wait list but the list is long and it could take several years before he gets an organ transplant. This is why he made the decision to take matters into his own hands by offering to trade the sneakers with a healthy organ.
Kim and Kanye have offered to give him a free pair if a deal goes through. This way, he can still keep his own. Unfortunately for him, Federal law forbids the exchange of an organ against cash or merchandise.
That means all deals are off even if anyone actually wanted to make the trade. Despite the setback, Neal’s post has gained a lot of traction and many people have offered to help. If anyone offers a kidney for free and they prove to be compatible, then the organ donation is completely legal.
A crowd sourcing page on Go Fund Me has also been started on his behalf. The page aims to earn $3,000 to pay for the expenses to be incurred by the donor during the transplant. Even if a kidney is given for free, there will still be a lot of medical expenses for the surgery and the subsequent recovery periods for both the donor and recipient.
For those, who wish to help out, donations are accepted here: Go Fund Me Matt Neal.
