Kanye West Saint Pablo Tour Update: Rapper Cancels European Dates Following Alleged Breakdown, Report Says
Kanye West has canceled the second leg of his Saint Pablo Tour amid his ongoing health problems, TMZ reported late Tuesday. The 39-year-old rapper was admitted to UCLA Medical Center last month for psychiatric evaluation after he acted "erratically."
West's team contacted concert promoter Live Nation to inform them that the second leg of the tour in Europe would not go ahead, sources told TMZ. Following the rapper's hospitalization, his team cut short the 2017 tour, which was set to feature dates in Paris, the U.K. and Germany.
TMZ also reported that the latest cancelation did not pose any problem because no dates were set and no tickets were sold for the European leg. According to reports, West's insurance policy — which covers lost profits and financial obligations for canceled concerts due to illness — could cover losses for the concerts West has canceled so far.
Earlier this month, West was released from the hospital where he was being treated for an apparent nervous breakdown. Some reports claimed that West was not only under work pressure, but was also stressed by the incident of his wife, Kim Kardashian, being robbed in Paris in November.
"He pushed himself too much," a source told Entertainment Tonight just after West's hospitalization. "The Paris incident unsettled everyone, [but it] unsettled him the most. He had this anxiety that everyone around him was trying to get him."
"He had severe paranoia. It was over nothing that was tangible or real," the source added. "He was thinking that people were out to kill him, out to break him and Kim up. It was Kanye vs. the whole world."
Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in the middle of the Paris Fashion Week. Five masked thieves reportedly stole up to $11 million in the heist. The reality TV star was unharmed during the robbery.
While everyone raised concerns about West's health, rapper Rick Ross claimed it may have all been an act.
In a video clip uploaded to Twitter last week, Ross made a comment about the “Life of Pablo” rapper.
“One time for Yeezy,” Ross told the crowd. “My homie a genius. For everybody who thought he was wigging out, he played y’all.”
Meanwhile, West and his wife are gearing up for the Christmas weekend by decorating their house. Recently, Kardashian's close friend Jonathan Cheban shared videos of the couple's Christmas tree decoration.
Since West's hospitalization, rumors surfaced that there has been trouble in their marriage. However, divorce rumors surrounding the couple were later shot down.
