Kanye West Thinks Reality Shows Are An Art Form And Kardashians Deserve EMMY Awards
Rapper Kanye West sure has a lot of issues with awards shows. After causing major controversies at the Grammy Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards over the years, he is now throwing shade at the EMMY Awards. In a new interview, he reveals that he thinks his wife, Kim Kardashian, and the rest of her family should have won numerous EMMYs.
“My wife and her family should have had plenty of Emmys by now,” West said in a lengthy interview with SHOWstudio. The video recording of the interview has been shared by TMZ and Kanye could be seen opening up about numerous issues.
Among the points that he wants to raise is how he feels that reality TV shows are a brand new art form. He says in the video that the Kardashian-Jenner clan should be commended for their part in making it such a successful part of modern pop culture.
He compares reality stars to rappers like Will Smith and Run D.M.C, who were not immediately recognized for their craft. He also thinks that Caitlyn Jenner’s transition is similarly a revolutionary concept. Regardless of what Kanye feels, it would still be up to the Television Academy to decide who brings home trophies in the annual awards show.
“Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” the Kardashian-Jenner clan’s reality show, is now on its 10th successful season. The show has also given birth to several spin-offs like “Kourtney and Khloe Take the Hamptons,” “I Am Cait,” and the brand new series “DASH Dolls.”
“Keeping Up With the Kardashians” airs every Sunday at 8:00 p.m. EDT on E!.
