Karrueche Tran, Chris Brown Update: Model Buys Royalty Birthday Gift But Doesn’t Want To Be Stepmother: Report

It seemed like Karrueche Tran’s on-again, off-again relationship with rapper Chris Brown was done for good after it was revealed he fathered a love child with model Nia Guzman, but Tran is apparently warming up to the baby. She even bought Royalty a birthday present for her first birthday, an insider told Hollywood Life in an exclusive report Friday.

“Karrueche’s well aware she shares the same birth month as Royalty. She wants Chris to know that she’s very proud of him for manning up and taking responsibility for his daughter,” a source told Hollywood Life. “Karrueche’s already purchased Royalty a small gift. She bought her the cutest little Vietnamese natural agarwood elastic string bracelet. Karrueche got one on her first birthday too. In her culture, it brings luck and good health.”

Even though Tran is more comfortable with the idea of the “Loyal” singer being a father, she isn’t ready to fulfill the role as a stepmother for Royalty. "At the end of the day, she doesn't want to step on Royalty's mother's heels. She doesn't want her to feel like she's trying to come in and be her baby's mother," an insider told Hollywood Life in a different article. "She can see Nia not wanting her to be around Royalty in fear that she may become attached to Kae. She can even hear arguments between her and Chris over how to raise her."

Tran, 27, has not addressed Brown or his child on social media. Although she posted several updates to her Instagram and Twitter accounts, she didn’t mention her boyfriend or his baby. Instead, she thanked her makeup artist for “making me pretty yesterday.”

Sunday was a big day for Brown and Royalty. He took the baby as his date to the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, which marked their first public appearance as father and daughter.
