Apparently, a “cat” and “mouse” are not quite cut out for romance.

Famed tattoo artist, Kat Von D and DJ, Deadmau5, have reportedly ended their relationship.

The two revealed the split on Twitter this weekend. "Man … can’t say I didn’t give it my best,” Von D tweeted Saturday.

She added later, “Man I sure was wrong. But at least he made it a no-brainer to break that off #lessonlearned.”

The couple began dating in September after meeting at a party, the New York Daily News reported. Over the weekend, Von D clarified the current status of their relationship.

“Clarification: Deadmau5 and I are no longer together,” she tweeted.

“Now, we can get all of the ‘I told you so’s’ out of the way … and move on.”

In 2011, Von D was caught in a cheating scandal with Jesse James, the ex-husband of actress Sandra Bullock. The affair supposedly lead to the end of their marriage.

Von D and James were engaged in January 2011, but ultimately ended their relationship in September 2011.

Deadmau5, whose real name is Joel Zimmerman, added his side of the story to the Von D split. “Going to spend a little while screwing my head back on,” he tweeted. “I guess im not cut out for relationships right now. and that’s all i really want to dwell on it right now.

“I’ll figure it out. no hard feelings.”

The DJ suggested that their whirlwind romance may have been the very reason for its quick end.

Just one month ago, Zimmerman called Von D the “love of his life,” in a tweet.

His last tweed on the subject, however, read, “It happened too fast, i lost my balance and fell into a familiar dark place that im having difficulty with. she deserves someone stronger.

"...and thats it for the personal stuff...on with our regularly scheduled deadmau5 crap."
