Kat Von D And Deadmau5 Split: Tattoo Artist Accuses Musician Of Cheating On Her
Kat Von D and her fiancé of six months, Deadmau5, seem to have called off their engagement, after the tattoo artist accused the electronic musician of cheating on her.
In a revealing tweet on Wednesday, Von D, whose real name is Katherine von Drachenberg, wrote: “Cheating on your loved one is the most hurtful thing one could do. I hate to have to admit, that this relationship is indeed over.”
When a fan urged her not to take Deadmau5 back, Von D replied saying, “Never.”
Von D and Deadmau5, whose real name is Joel Thomas Zimmerman, started dating in September. The couple broke up in November, but reconciled shortly after, following which Deadmau5 proposed to Von D through Twitter.
“I can't wait for Christmas so.... Katherine Von Drachenberg, will you marry me? @thekatvond,” Deadmau5 wrote in December, along with the picture of a ring that he intended to give the former ‘LA Ink’ star.
The couple was scheduled to get married on August 10 in a ceremony that Von D told People magazine would be the “furthest thing from traditional.”
The couple wanted an underwater-themed wedding, drawing inspiration from H.P. Lovecraft's short story ‘The Call of Cthulhu,’ and it was set to feature green-colored food and performers dressed as mermaids, according to People. Von D’s wedding gown, which Deadmau5 was helping to design, too, adhered to the theme.
Von D was previously engaged to Sandra Bullock’s ex-husband Jesse James in 2011. But the engagement did not last more than six months, as it was revealed that James had cheated on her.
At the time, Von D took to her Facebook page to announce that James had cheated on her with 19 women. "Today I encountered the 19th girl to add to the list of people Jesse cheated on me with during this last year," she wrote in a post titled, "Thank You, Jesse James."
