Kate Middleton Always Wears This On Remembrance Day As Princess Diana Tribute
Kate Middleton always makes a subtle nod to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana on Remembrance Day.
According to Emily Hodgkin, a journalist for Express, the Duchess of Cambridge pays tribute to the late Princess of Wales every Remembrance Day by wearing a pair of pearl earrings. It is given for women to wear black outfits and hats for the event, but over the years, Middleton has always accessorized her ensemble with pearl earrings just like Princess Diana.
Last year, Prince William's wife wore the Oscar de la Renta Pearl Sun Star button earrings, which appear to be very similar to what the People's Princess owned. In the previous year, she wore another pair of pearl earrings.
Unlike her sister-in-law Meghan Markle, Middleton is a fan of classic jewelry. She has been seen wearing different pieces from the Queen's collection. However, the Duchess of Sussex has not worn any of the monarch's items yet, except for the tiara she wore on her royal wedding to Prince Harry.
According to experts, this could be due to the two duchesses' different taste in jewelry. Middleton is into "royal traditional styling." On the other hand, Markle opts to support smaller designers to make an ethical impact.
"With statement pieces often borrowed from the Royal collection, Kate loves to wear sets that match as well as adding in coloured stones that make a statement," Charlotte Balbier of All the Pretty said about the Duchess of Cambridge's jewelry choice.
"Meghan is almost the complete opposite opting for fine pieces often delicate and small, almost smaller the better," Balbier said about Prince Harry's wife. "Petite bangles and small earrings are Meghan’s signature look. Less is more for this new mum-to-be."
Although Markle hasn't used any of the Queen's collection, she was seen using some items from Princess Diana's collection. The Duchess was photographed wearing Princess Diana's butterfly earrings and bracelets in Sydney after making her pregnancy announcement.
Middleton and Markle are set to join forces over the weekend with their husbands, Prince William and Prince Harry, respectively. The fab four will attend three Remembrance Day engagements together.
