Kate Middleton Could Teach Melania Trump About ‘Flawless,’ ‘Diplomatic’ Dressing During Her Tours

Kate Middleton is considered to be one of the most fashionable members of the royal family. And First Lady Melania Trump can learn a thing or two from her when it comes to flawless and diplomatic dressing.

While speaking with Town & Country, royal biographer Marcia Moody discussed the importance of clothing when going on tours and other important engagements.

“Adhering to dress codes means that for some countries hemlines, sleeve-lengths, and necklines need to be considered. Men may need tie pins, medals, sashes, and handkerchiefs. Women often pay respect to the country with a national flower or symbol incorporated into their clothing. Symbolic colors are chosen, significant jewelry decided upon,” she said.

When traveling to another country, Middleton makes it a point to wear something that was designed by a local. When she traveled to India, the Duchess of Cambridge wore Naeem Khan for her trip to the Taj Mahal. And when she attended a cricket game, Middleton was photographed in a blue and pink gown by Anita Dongre from Mumbai.

The mom of three also makes it a point to experiment with traditional dresses. During her trip to Pakistan, she wore a shalwar kameez, which is a dress and trouser combination. Prince William’s wife wore similar attire twice but the first one was made by a British designer and the other one was crafted by a textile company in Pakistan.

Middleton also sees to it that she has something formal to wear during her tours. Prior to her trip to India, she wore a polka dot dress by Indian designer Saloni. She also donned a bespoke Jenny Packham blue dress at a gala fundraiser in Mumbai.

According to Express, the FLOTUS also boasts of understated elegance with her choice of clothing. When she received the Women of Distinction award in Florida, she wore a beautiful white sleeveless dress.

In India, Melania was photographed wearing a white one-piece attire. Even though she stunned in her clothing, her critics likened it to a karate outfit.
