Kate Middleton Debuts Shorter Haircut At Wimbledon

Kate Middleton is setting a new hair trend.

On Monday, the Duchess of Cambridge stepped out to visit the Wimbledon officials and players. She turned heads with her shorter hairdo that made her look younger. Middleton donned a polka-dot dress by Dolce and Gabbana, E! News reported.

Middleton is a self-confessed tennis fan. In fact, there was a point in her life when she considered getting a tennis career. She admitted that tournaments like Wimbledon inspired her. Before she became a royal, she endured hours of lining up just to get a ticket for Wimbledon because she felt that witnessing the games was special. Now, she has a prime viewing seat in the royal box.

When Middleton met the Wimbledon officials and the players, she admitted that she had experience in playing tennis, but “not to any standard.” Her visit to the Wimbledon is one of her duties as the Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club. It entitled her to meet some of the ball boys and girls ahead of the game. She was also set to meet the stewards and its medical and safety teams, Evening Standard reported.

Middleton took over the patron of All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club that hosts the Wimbledon championship from Queen Elizabeth who maintained the position for 64 years. The Queen only attended three championships since 1957. Meanwhile, Middleton is a regular face in the royal box.

In other news, Kate and Prince William are set to visit Germany and Poland on a five-day trip on July 17. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are reportedly taking their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte with them and they are already very excited for the said tour.

“The Duke and Duchess are very much looking forward to this tour and are delighted with the exciting and varied programme that has been put together for it,” the Kensington Palace spokesperson said, E! News reported. “They look forward to a busy and impactful tour, and are grateful that they will have the opportunity to meet the Polish and German people—such important friends of the United Kingdom—as a family.”
