Kate Middleton isn’t often criticized for her fashion choices, but there could be an unexpected reason why as it turns out.

According to the Daily Mail, the Duchess of Cambridge actually has another member of the royal family who occasionally helps her out when it comes to acquiring items for her wardrobe. Designer Donna Ida, who reportedly designs the jean that Middleton favors, revealed to the publication that Sophie, Countess of Wessex, actually has worked to get items for her before.

“My friend, a stylist, is best friends with Sophie Wessex, and Sophie buys from us,” Ida said. “She got our [£295] black Sadie jumpsuit for herself and then asked for one for Kate. She said: ‘Kate wants one, can I get one as well?’ Kate’s never been seen wearing it in public. It’s home wear.”

The revelation comes after a claim earlier this year that Middleton was also trying to seem more fashionable as her sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, began making headlines for her own choices, and that she was seeking outside help to give her wardrobe a nice refresh.

According to Express UK at the time, Middleton hired a secret aide to help her stay on pace with the Duchess of Sussex, and that the aide she was using was Virginia Chadwyck-Healey, a former editor at Vogue magazine, who is actually an old friend of both Middleton and her husband, Prince William, and was being seen as her “secret weapon.”

“Ginnie is Catherine’s secret weapon,” a source said. “he has made a big difference to the Duchess’ wardrobe for public engagements and had helped give her a whole new sense of confidence. Catherine has been really impressed and is very grateful for her help.”
