Kate Middleton To Inherit Royal Jewelry Collection When Prince William Becomes King
Kate Middleton will inherit royal jewelry collection when Prince William becomes king.
The Duchess of Cambridge will inherit a jewelry collection when Prince William takes the throne. Middleton will be authorized to wear the vast majority of the Crown Jewels including the Jeweled Sword Offering and the Nizam of Hyderabad necklace.
The items in the collection are estimated to have a value betwen $39 and $660 million making it one of the world’s most expensive jewelry collections.
Middleton often borrows some items from the Queen’s vault. In November 2017, she was spotted wearing a diamond and pearl choker for Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip’s 70th wedding anniversary.
The four-strand pearl choker with a central diamond has been worn by Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana. It was commissioned using a collection of cultured pearls given to Her Majesty by the Japanese government.
In August 2018, the Duchess of Cambridge borrowed another item from the Queen’s collection. Middleton used the Bahrain Pearl Drop earrings with large round diamond and smaller circle diamond hanging below them like a dangling pear when she accompanied the Queen to the church.
In November 2018, Prince William’s wife borrowed her accessories from the Queen’s vault again when she attended the Tusk Conservation Awards. Middleton showed up in a recycled Jenny Packham gown and wore diamond chandelier earrings that feature an enormous pear-shaped diamond supported by thin strands of diamonds. The item was originally given to the Queen Mother.
Unlike Middleton, Meghan Markle has not borrowed any item from the Queen’s vault except for the tiara she wore on her big day. According to experts, Middleton is into “royal traditional styling,” so the items on the Queen’s collection suits her taste.
At present, Prince William is second-in-line to the throne. It will take years before he takes over the reign because Prince Charles will be the next king after Queen Elizabeth II.
When Prince Charles becomes the new king, Prince William will be the new Prince of Wales and Middleton will be the new Princess of Wales. It is very likely that Prince William and Middleton will still keep their current title as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
