The wait for the second royal baby may finally be coming to an end. Many predicted that Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, would give birth by the end of April. The 33-year-old has exceeded all predicted labor dates, leaving royal-baby-watchers wondering when the next prince or princess will arrive.

Zed James, a London photographer, spotted the duchess leaving Kensington Palace early this morning. He began a video on Periscope, shot from just outside the palace gates. As we previously reported, Middleton has chosen, once again, to retreat from the public eye while she awaits the arrival of her son or daughter. Her leaving the palace is certainly odd if she’s not in labor.

Moments after James’ tweet Gordon Rayner, a reporter with the Telegraph, shared that a police convoy had been seen leaving Bucklebury, England – the small village Middleton grew up in. Her parents still reside there and, as Rayner noted in his tweets, they do not usually get a police escort when leaving home. Unfortunately he could not say with any certainty that the escort was intended for the Duchesses family as the palace was not available for comment.

Tim Ewart, who covers the royals for ITV, tweeted that Police had been called to the Lindo Wing of Saint Mary’s Hospital, where Middleton will give birth. His post revealed that numerous television personalities were on the scene.

The royal baby’s late arrival has thrown off many bets surrounding his or her birth. Because of this many have wavered on their wagers on various topics ranging from the actual birth date, who will hold the child during its initial reveal and the name Middleton and her husband Prince William may choose for their second child. Alice has been the leading favorite among betters, raking in numbers so high many book keepers were forced to slash the odds. Now, Alice has been bumped down a notch, with Charlotte taking the lead.
