Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle Displayed United Front During Christmas For This Reason

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton put on a united front because they were asked to do so.

Prince William’s wife and Prince Harry’s spouse reportedly had a ghastly row for a year. However, they appeared amicable when they joined the royals for their annual Christmas morning service in Sandringham. Just like last year, Middleton and Markle walked side by side with their husbands. They were photographed smiling and were even chatting as they made their way to church.

According to Jack Royston, a journalist for The Sun, the Queen ordered Middleton and Markle to have a Christmas truce. Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth II told the two to keep their rift under wraps during the royals’ traditional Christmas gathering at Sandringham.

“The Queen and Charles have allowed the situation to play out without overtly interfering — but they both made it clear that Christmas was for the whole family to really come together,” the insider told Royston.

“That meant the two couples walking into church together as the Fab Four just like they had last year. Yes, it was awkward and uncomfortable given what's gone on over the past 12 months,” the insider added.

Aside from being friendly during the family’s public outing, the monarch also reportedly asked Middleton and Markle to be on good terms as the members of the Firm gather for her Christmas speech. It appeared that the two duchesses followed the senior royals’ orders.

Body language expert Judi James noted that Markle and Middleton’s united front was only for the cameras. She also pointed out how the Duchess of Cambridge exerted more effort during their friendly public reunion.

In one photo, Middleton can be seen keeping herself a few steps behind Prince William just to keep pace with Markle while they were chatting. On the other hand, the Duchess of Sussex could be seen holding Prince Harry’s arm.

According to an insider, Middleton and Markle’s ghastly row began last year. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to their home in Norfolk. However, Markle was reportedly judged as “downright rude” upon arrival. Middleton also said something to her that made her felt she was being “told off.”
